He accompanied his father doing kirtan on he tabla till 1980 when his father passed on. Bhai Sahib traveled extensively with his father to various countries including Singapore, Africa, UK. After his father's demise, Bhai Hariqbal Singh left Delhi to live in Bombay where he continues to reside. He did kirtan seva till 1992 when he bagan doing seva as a kathavachak. He has traveled to various countries including Thailand, Malaysia, UK and Canada inspiring the sangat with his very lively style of katha. His two elder brothers are the noted classical ragi, Amrik Singh Zakhmi and Surjit Singh of Milwaukee and the two younger to him are Raghbir Singh of Seattle and Breatpal Singh of UK.
