Thaipusam is a key Hindu ceremony that is held each year during the full moon in the tenth month of the Hindu calendar.

Thaipusam is celebrated by the Hindu people of South India and the mainly Tamil-speaking Hindu communities throughout Malaysia and Singapore.
It is dedicated as a thanksgiving to Lord Subramaniam (also known as Murugan) for answered prayers, and is also a day of penance.

I would like to acknowledge and thank two of my good friends, Sukhminder Singh who guided and accompanied me during the photo shoot at Thaipusam. All of this would not have been possible if not for the time and tireless work put in by my good friend Mr Vijay Kumar and his wife Shailaja who drove me to this and other locations.
